Please pass along my apologies to your kitty, Caroline, and let him know that I will look for a less raucous song selection next time. Have to say that the original version of this song is just a little too cheesy for me these days, but I also confess to having a real soft spot for how the lead singer on this version tries to affect a French accent without using Plastic Bertrand's famous Belgian lip sync technique!
I first heard the original version of the song back when I was a teenager, Emma, but I had forgotten about it for decades until I learned last weekend that Thee Headcoatees (the previous band of a singer named Holly Golightly that I like a lot) had done a cover of it along with a million other bands. Anyway, their version just cracked me up for some reason, so I decided to post it on a whim and ended up terrifying Caroline's cat unexpectedly. Déjanté, bien sûr!
Oh boy, pressing play shocked the cat right out of his basket by turning...(it was far too loud, poor kitty).
ResponderBorrarI must admit I like the orginal better.

BorrarOh dear, this song (well the original) reminds me of my childhood.
ResponderBorrarI like this version too. How are you aware of this??
Déjanté.

BorrarWell, it made me laugh Richard! An irresistable tune covered by everyone except Christo.
ResponderBorrarGlad you got a kick out of that, Séamus--meanwhile, I wish I had thought of your "irresistible tune/Christo" line, by the way!
