Thanks for hosting this event, Richard. It's been a blast, and I shall persevere with Aira, I promise! Wishing you all the best for 2015, may the new year bring you lots of wonderful books. I hope we can look forward to another Spanish Lit Month later in the year (and more doom lit, of course). I'll need another one to read the books I picked up off the back of last year's SLM.
ResponderBorrarI'm glad to hear you had a blast with this Doom tomfoolery, Jacqui, but thank you so much for participating--the pleasure was all mine! Stu has already said on his blog that he'd like to do Spanish Lit Month again this year, so hopefully the gang can regroup for that & year 4 of Doom later in the year. In the meantime, Happy 2015 to you and your family and all best on the reading front to you this year.
BorrarThanks for spreading DOOM Richard. It makes our lives that much more interesting. I finished Ghosts at just about midnight on New Years Eve, which was surprisingly appropriate. It also shows how old, tired and antisocial I have become! I hope to post in the next week or so.
ResponderBorrarHappy New Year to you and yours, Séamus, and thanks for participating in Doom again. 'Twas fun! Ghosts is indeed an excellent choice for an antisocial New Year's Eve read, so I look forward to hearing what you thought of it when you get the chance. Cheers!
BorrarI guess I meant to read some Aira, too. It'll keep, right? Everything worked out well enough. The letters probably won't fade from the pages. Thanks for assembling the parts for this thing.
ResponderBorrarI myself have two Aira things and at least one more Lamborghini thing left in reserve for the next time--unintentionally as it were--so I certainly hope things keep. By the way, this has been an unexpectedly fun piece of blogging tomfoolery (no offense!) to curate over the years; thanks for being a charter member of Doom and for contributing such juicy posts to the endeavor each year. Your Quiroga pieces were great.
BorrarThis tomfoolery has got to be sustained. Till the end of the world, if possible. The season of doom is always a reading highlight of the year.
BorrarRise, thanks so much for the kind words and for the support you've also shown as a charter member of Doom. Your Aira and Bioy Casares posts were also among my highlights this year.
