  1. Oh boy, pressing play shocked the cat right out of his basket by turning...(it was far too loud, poor kitty).
I must admit I like the orginal better.

    1. Please pass along my apologies to your kitty, Caroline, and let him know that I will look for a less raucous song selection next time. Have to say that the original version of this song is just a little too cheesy for me these days, but I also confess to having a real soft spot for how the lead singer on this version tries to affect a French accent without using Plastic Bertrand's famous Belgian lip sync technique!

  2. Oh dear, this song (well the original) reminds me of my childhood.

I like this version too. How are you aware of this??

    Déjanté.

    1. I first heard the original version of the song back when I was a teenager, Emma, but I had forgotten about it for decades until I learned last weekend that Thee Headcoatees (the previous band of a singer named Holly Golightly that I like a lot) had done a cover of it along with a million other bands. Anyway, their version just cracked me up for some reason, so I decided to post it on a whim and ended up terrifying Caroline's cat unexpectedly. Déjanté, bien sûr!

  3. Well, it made me laugh Richard! An irresistable tune covered by everyone except Christo.

    1. Glad you got a kick out of that, Séamus--meanwhile, I wish I had thought of your "irresistible tune/Christo" line, by the way!
