"La Libertat"

"La Libertat" (1892)
(J. Clozel, lyrics; M. Theron, music)

Just a quick post tonight in honor of our Occitan-speaking friends (you know who you are). I don't know much about this song's origin other than that Clozel came from Marselha (Marseille), but I think the words and music speak for themselves...with the help of an online translation or two! Al còp que ven!

  2. Adieu, Joan e Merike, va plan? This cançon has a 10-second delay before the music starts, but it seems to be working now. A totara.

  3. Ben non...Lo son non vóu pas sortir...Un problèma dab lo servèire europèu, dilhèu?
Well, no, still no sound here. A problem with the European server of youtube, I guess...I am not having the same trouble with other youtube videos right now...
Anyway, this is a well known song in Provençal, though the association with Occitania was probably not in the authors'mind at that time. Have a good week!

  4. Hi r-lo, I have every time been able to hear this song loud and clear!!! If joan cannot hear it, must be the problem in his APPLE computer. Also YouTube has sometimes problems with my computer if I keep too many windows open. It is always released after I close all Firefox windows and return to the one I need to hear. I know nothing of computers but joan is a specialist on every walk of life and beyond. Have a nice day!!!

  5. No, of course not, this is not a computer problem. Same thing with PC here (I have both). It is a server trouble, apparently. This video has no sound for us, for some reasons. I have no trouble with other youtube videos.

  6. Thank you both for the feedback, but maybe this is why YouTube is free! Hope you have a nice afternoon/evening.
